Annual Accounts & Management Reporting

Statutory accounts filed accurately and on time, and management information that tells you how the business is really doing, before the year end, not nine months after it.

Year-end accounts, without the year-end panic

Every business has to produce accounts. Done well, they're more than a legal obligation: they're the foundation for your tax position, your borrowing capacity and every big decision you make.

We prepare and file annual accounts for:

  • Limited companies: full statutory accounts, filed at Companies House alongside the corporation tax return (CT600) with HMRC
  • Sole traders: accounts that feed straight into your Self Assessment return
  • Partnerships: partnership accounts and the associated partnership return

You'll get your accounts explained in plain English: what the numbers say, where the tax liability comes from, and what could be done differently next year.

Management accounts and forecasting

Waiting until the year end to find out how you did is running the business through the rear-view mirror. For clients who want more, we produce:

  • Monthly or quarterly management accounts
  • Budgets and variance analysis: what you planned versus what happened
  • Cash flow forecasts, so funding gaps are visible months ahead, not the week payroll is due
  • Support with accounting systems and controls, including staff training

How it works

  1. Free consultation: we look at your current setup and quote a fixed fee.
  2. We collect the records, direct from your cloud software wherever possible.
  3. Draft, review, explain: you see the accounts and understand them before anything is filed.
  4. We file everything: Companies House and HMRC, with confirmation to you.

Common questions

When are my company accounts due?

Private limited companies must file accounts at Companies House within 9 months of the year end, and pay corporation tax 9 months and 1 day after the period end. We track every deadline for you and prepare well in advance, so there's never a last-minute scramble.

What do I need to give you?

If you're on Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, usually just access. Otherwise, bank statements, invoices and receipts. We'll give you a simple checklist and can take over the bookkeeping if you'd rather not deal with it at all.

What's the difference between statutory and management accounts?

Statutory accounts are the legally required year-end accounts filed at Companies House. Management accounts are for you: monthly or quarterly reports on profit, cash and performance against budget, so you can make decisions with current numbers rather than last year's.
